Plans have been submitted for up to nine new homes on land off Woone Lane in Clitheroe.
The application seeks permission in principle for residential development on a parcel of land to the east of Woone Lane.
The site sits between existing housing and the Primrose Lodge Nature Reserve and is currently vacant scrubland.
It was previously part of the wider Primrose Mill complex, which included industrial buildings and a reservoir.

The application has been submitted on behalf of Beck Homes (UK) Ltd.
At this stage, the plans are asking the council to agree to the principle of housing on the site, rather than detailed designs.
Indicative drawings show how up to nine homes could be accommodated in a low-density layout with parking, gardens and landscaping.
The planning statement says the site lies within the built-up area of Clitheroe and is within easy reach of the town centre and local services.
It argues the land represents a suitable infill site and a sustainable location for housing.
The applicant says the proposed development would sit comfortably alongside neighbouring homes and would not harm the nearby nature reserve.

Discussions have already taken place with the Primrose Community Nature Trust, which is said to be aware of the proposals and has raised no objections.
The trust has also confirmed the plans would not affect future proposals for improved pedestrian links around the reserve.
The application limits development to a maximum of nine homes, which the applicant says reflects what has already been accepted on nearby sites.
Ribble Valley Borough Council will now decide whether the land is suitable for housing in principle.
If approved, detailed plans covering layout, design and environmental matters would be submitted at a later stage.
The application can be viewed on the council’s planning website.
