Plans have been submitted for two new homes on a parcel of land in Ribchester.
The application seeks permission in principle to build two dwellings on an undeveloped plot of land that sits between existing houses on Preston Road.
The site covers just under half an acre and slopes gently down towards the village.
According to the planning statement, the land is not within a conservation area and is not affected by flooding or public footpaths.

At this stage, the application is only seeking approval for the principle of residential development, rather than detailed plans.
Indicative drawings have been submitted to show that two homes could comfortably fit on the site.
The statement argues the plot represents a natural infill site, bordered by housing on three sides and closely linked to the existing village.
It says the location is sustainable, with residents able to walk to shops, cafes, pubs, the school, the village hall, and other facilities in Ribchester.
Bus stops are also located nearby on Preston Road, with regular services to Preston, Clitheroe, and Blackburn.
The applicant points to a recent appeal decision elsewhere in the Ribble Valley, which concluded the council does not currently have a five-year supply of housing land.

They say this is an important factor in favour of allowing small housing sites such as this one.
The planning statement adds that the proposed homes would make a modest contribution to meeting local housing needs.
No detailed design, layout, or appearance has been fixed at this stage, with those matters to be considered later if permission in principle is granted.
The application is for fewer than 10 homes and falls within the size limits allowed under the permission in principle process.
Ribble Valley Borough Council will decide whether the land is suitable for housing in principle before any further details are brought forward.
The application can be viewed on the council’s planning website.
