A local filmmaking team turned Blackburn's Corporation Park into the sun-drenched, suburban sprawl of 1970s California for a new movie.
Produced on a micro-budget the new feature film ‘Mommy I Don't Want To’ recently held a private screening for cast and crew at The University of Greater Manchester in Bolton.
The movie was filmed in Corporation Park, Church Street, Blackburn Central Library and the Blackburn Business Development Centre.
The production also utilised locations across Bolton and Manchester and received vital support from Lancashire Police, who assisted during the filming of intense outdoor crime scenes.
It is written by Chris Friedman and stars Petter Berge, Alexa Delaney-Smith and Alysia Dyke.

The movie is produced by Asif Pervez and a private screening was attended by cast and crew.
He said: “Our biggest challenge was finding California in the North West.
“Thanks to the support of the councils, the local police, and the community, we were able to turn local landmarks into the backdrop of a major psychological thriller. The private screening was a wonderful way to celebrate the hard work of everyone involved before the film begins its journey to a wider audience.
Inspired by true events, 'Mommy I Don’t Want To' is described as ‘a haunting psychological thriller that explores how childhood trauma can shape a terrifying future’.
The film synopsis reads ‘Beneath the surface of an ordinary life lies a disturbing darkness, born from fear, silence, and unresolved pain. As memories resurface and boundaries blur, a mother’s love is tested against forces she cannot understand or control. What begins as innocence slowly transforms into obsession, revealing how the past never truly stays buried.'
