Lancashire Telegraph readers have been nominating their favourite gym for our contest, and we can now reveal the top 10 shortlist.

Nominations have been flying in from readers, who were eager to shine a spotlight on their favourite hotspots for our Best Gym competition.

Serving as a celebration of East Lancashire’s thriving fitness scene, the competition showcases the dedication and passion of local gym owners.

Last year, Tyson’s Fitness Factory, in Accrington, took the crown thanks to its unique boxing facilities, with owner Ashrid Iqbal seeing his business as a way of giving back to the community.

Speaking after the victory, Ashrid said: “I can’t believe it. I am welling up as I really didn’t think I would win. I am really over the moon.

“I think staff are going to be really happy when I tell them the good news.

“I want to thank everyone for their support and for voting for me – I feel like I have achieved my goal.

“I haven’t won many things in my life, so this is on another level for me.”

Tyson’s are back this year. Will they be able to defend their crown, or will one of the following establishments be able to top them?
