Burnley: Fire service attends house fire on Accrington Road

Fire crews are attending a fire in Burnley today (December 31).

Four fire engines from Burnley, Padiham, and Nelson were called to Accrington Road at around 12.30pm.

Accrington Road is partially blocked and a detour is in operation for bus service number five.

Peter Coda Chadburn posted a picture of a house on fire with black smoke billowing into the sky.

A fire service spokesperson said: "At 12.37pm on December 31, four fire engines from Burnley, Padiham and Nelson attended a fire involving a domestic property on Accrington Road, Burnley.

"Firefighters extinguished the fire using two hose reels and four breathing apparatus, and crews remain in attendance."
