A viral jacket potato brand and a choir have joined forces to release a Christmas single.
SpudBros, the viral brand with origins in Preston, has partnered with Vicky McClure’s Our Dementia Choir to release "Brighter Than The Night."
The song is raising funds for the charity and competing in the race for the coveted Christmas number one.
Vicky McClure said: "I'm so excited SpudBros have teamed up with Our Dementia Choir.
"Not only is the song so heartfelt and Christmassy but everyone involved is on the same mission to help people live well with dementia, through music and the best spuds in town.
"Please support and Merry Christmas!"
The track, featuring members of the choir and SpudBros’ redcap Huw Roberts, is written by Antony Llewellyn.
It is executively produced by Jayne Collins and produced by Grammy and BRIT-winner Nick Patrick, who has worked with Andrea Bocelli, Shirley Bassey, and Ball & Boe.
The single is available for download for £1.29.
Jacob and Harley, SpudBros founders, said: "We still can’t believe how far this has come from two lads in a tram in Preston.
"Working with Our Dementia Choir and Vicky McClure has been incredible, and SpudX really sums up who we are as a brand: good food, good vibes and giving back.
"This Christmas, we just want to spread as much joy as possible."
The idea for the campaign began with a viral video showing a touching moment between SpudBros and an elderly couple.
It drew national attention, highlighting the impact of small acts of kindness on families affected by dementia.
The campaign holds personal meaning for brothers Jacob and Harley, whose grandmother lives with dementia.
They say the campaign is about harnessing the power of music and food to bring comfort and connection to families who need it most.
To further support the cause, SpudBros has launched a limited-edition menu item, the SpudX: The Festive Spud, available until January 5, 2026.
For every SpudX sold, £1 will be donated to Our Dementia Choir.
The Festive Spud is available at the Preston tram and all SpudBros Express stores in Liverpool, Sheffield and Soho.
The charity single was mixed and mastered at Abbey Road Studios.
Its animated music video was created by Chris Tootell of Drawing Board.
Mr Tootell has a 25-year career, including work on Oscar and BAFTA-winning projects with Tim Burton, Henry Selick, and Guillermo Del Toro.
The video tells the story of a character named Preston delivering a festive jacket potato to a lonely woman at the top of a hill.
