A yellow weather warning for rain has been issued across swathes of Lancashire, ahead of predicted downpours this weekend.
The warning lasts from 3pm on Saturday, December 13, to 6pm on Sunday 14, and covers much of the Ribble Valley, as well as Lancaster, Cumbria, and North Yorkshire.
Clitheroe just avoids the warning area, but the likes of Gisburn, Slaidburn, and the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty are all covered.
The Met Office has said: "Periods of heavy rain during the weekend may lead to travel disruption and some flooding.
"Outbreaks of rain will spread in from the west during Saturday, eventually clearing away during Sunday afternoon and evening.
"The rain will be heavy at times with accumulations of 30mm to 50mm developing quite widely and in excess of 100mm across some high ground."
The forecaster warns spray and flooding on roads will make journey times longer and create hazardous driving conditions, with the small chance some communities will be cut off by flooded roads.
Power supplies and other services could be interrupted, while there is also the risk to homes and businesses in flood-prone areas of flooding.
In Slaidburn, rain is predicted to roll in during the early hours, accompanied by a stiff wind of 17mph, with gusts of up to 34mph.
It's a similar picture in Lancaster, with rain predicted all day on Sunday.
With the River Ribble originating in the hills of North Yorkshire before winding its way through the Ribble Valley, heavy rain could bring higher river levels and fast-moving water too.
