ITV film crews are set to return to Lancashire today (December 9) to film a new drama.
ITV will be filming scenes for its upcoming drama Adultery in Lancashire, with filming confirmed to take place in Hoddlesden today, Blackburn with Darwen Council has confirmed.
Long Hey Lane is set to be closed at its junction with Jackson Heights to accommodate the production.
This will be from 6.30am until 5.30pm.
A spokesperson for Blackburn with Darwen Roads said: "On Tuesday, December 9, Long Hey Lane will be closed at its junction with Jackson Heights due to filming for a new drama. This closure will be in place from 6.30am to 5.30pm.
"Access for emergency services and residents will be maintained. School buses will also continue to run as normal."
This is not the first time ITV crews have filmed in the area.
On November 5, film crews were spotted in Darwen, working on Bank Street and Church Bank Street.
Pictures showed film crews in hi-vis jackets with filming equipment around these streets and Joe Davies shared a picture of what appeared to be actress Romola Garai, outside The Bridgewater Pub in Church Street.
Councillor Phil Riley, leader of Blackburn with Darwen Council, said: “We appreciate that road closures can cause disruption to local residents, and thank everyone for their patience and understanding during this particular temporary road closure to support a one-day filming request in Hoddlesden.
“It’s always exciting to see Blackburn with Darwen on the television, spotting familiar locations as we enjoy some high-profile dramas. As a borough, we have much to offer television production companies, whether they’re looking for beautiful rural areas, small villages, or more urban areas particularly with traditional terraced housing.
“We also welcome the investment in local businesses that comes with a film crew spending time in our borough.”
Adultery is written and created by BAFTA-winning writer Danny Brocklehurst, known for Fool Me Once and Brassic.
The cast includes Mamma Mia star Dominic Cooper, Romola Garai, Shelley Conn, and Matthew McNulty.
Polly Hill, ITV’s director of drama, said: "Danny’s brilliant scripts will have an audience hooked into this adulterous story from the start.
"At its heart though it’s about love, and I’m excited to have an addictive love story on ITV, and to be working with Danny and Ben and the team at Poison Pen Studios."
The six-part series is produced by Poison Pen Studios and began filming in the north west in September.
The drama is set to explore the intense connection between its two lead characters, played by Dominic and Romola, and the fallout for their families.
