An East Lancashire restaurant has received more good news after being included in the Harden's Top 100.

Northcote's inclusion in the annual list of the best restaurants in the UK comes just a week after they were included in La Liste, a compilation of the top 1,000 restaurants worldwide.

Harden's voted Northcote, near Langho, 13th in the UK, describing it as a "famous foodie boutique hotel."

Lisa Goodwin-Allen, the chef patron-director at Northcote, said: “Being named in the Harden’s Top 100, so soon after our placement in La Liste, means so much to everyone at Northcote.

"Recognition like this is never taken for granted, and I always say this, but it's a testament to the hard work, care and graft our team puts in every single day.

"From the kitchen to the front-of-house and everyone behind the scenes who make Northcote what it is.

"They turn up each day with passion and heart, that’s what guests feel when they come through our doors. To have that recognised on both a national and international level is something that genuinely makes me so proud.

"We’ve got plenty of exciting things ahead, but moments like this remind us why we do what we do. It gives us all a boost to keep pushing, keep improving and keep giving people the warm, memorable Northcote experience they come back for time and again.”

Harden's scored Northcote a 5/5 for its food and a 4/5 for both its service and ambience.

They said this was based on a £150 three-course dinner, half a bottle of wine, coffee, cover charge, service and VAT.

In a summary, Hardens said: "It’s something of a case of ‘plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose’ (the more things change, the more they stay the same) at this famous foodie boutique hotel in the Ribble Valley, just off the A59, where star chef Lisa Goodwin-Allen quit in early 2025, only almost immediately to announce her return after the property had been sold by The Stafford Collection to kitchen manufacturer magnates, Alf & Clare Ellis; and where – all the while – indefatigable MD Craig Bancroft continued to marshall operations (as well as the considerable wine list).

"Despite all the changes, reports and ratings in our annual diners’ poll – in which the hotel is a top-40 most commented-on destination outside London – consistently acknowledge it as a “beautiful venue that always delivers high quality food, with a welcome emphasis on local produce”."

Elsewhere in Lancashire, Ormskirk's Moor Hall was rated as the top restaurant in the country by Harden's, highlighting its achievement of three Michelin Stars in seven years.

It was scored a 5/5 for food and 4/5 for service and ambience based on a £350 meal.
