A Blackburn filmmaker is seeking someone to play a lead in a short movie being filmed in East Lancs.
Aeman Ali Afzal, founder of This Is TAE and Indie Crib, is calling for local actors, extras, and filming locations for his latest short film, “No Comment”. The crime drama is about youth exploitation and how 'choices can change lives'.
Filming will take place between Nelson and Blackburn this November (17–19) in collaboration with The Prosper Partnership.
The story is set in Nelson, and aims to capture the 'atmosphere of Lancashire’s terraced streets and working-class communities', said Aeman.
He said: “We want this film to feel completely real, like something that could happen on any street in Lancashire.
“We’re not just looking for actors, we’re also looking for the right street, a typical terraced home and road we can film on. If any local residents are open to us using their location, we’d love to hear from them.”
The roles are for someone to play Rizwan, playing age 17, South Asian; Qasim, playing age 24 to 30 and local extras for where people of all ages and backgrounds are welcome.
These are ideal for anyone who’s ever wanted to appear in a film as a background extra and gain on-set experience.
Roles are paid including travel covered with filming taking place in Nelson and Blackburn.
