Blackburn Rovers' internationals enjoyed a fruitful weekend in action for their countries.

Valerien Ismael is currently without Balazs Toth, Nick Michalski, Kristi Montgomery, Lewis Miller, Augustus Kargbo, Andri Gudjohnsen and Igor Tyjon from his first-team squad. All have been in action over the first week of the international break.

Toth added to his two Hungary caps, starting in goal against Armenia as they continue their quest for World Cup qualification. The Rovers number one kept a clean sheet whilst goals from Daniel Lukacs and a late effort from Zsombor Gruber secured a 2-0 win. They host Portugal next up on Tuesday night.

Miller was a second-half substitute for Australia as they beat Canada 1-0 in the early hours of Saturday morning. Rovers' defender got 33 minutes as Nestory Irankunda's strike sealed a seventh successive victory.

Australia face the United States of America on Wednesday morning, meaning Miller will be one of the last returnees to the Brockhall Senior Training Centre ahead of this weekend's clash with Coventry City.

Elsewhere, Gujdohnsen started a registered an assist for Iceland but they were beaten 5-3 by Ukraine. It's a return clash against France next up on Monday evening.

Kargbo played 90 minutes in his second World Cup qualifier of the break on Sunday. Having lost 1-0 to Burkina Faso last week, Sierra Leone beat Djibouti 1-0 over the weekend.

Montgomery started for Scotland's Under-21s as they thrashed Gibraltar 12-0 last Thursday. They play away at Azerbaijan on Tuesday night in another UEFA European Championship qualifying match.

Finally, Tyjon stepped off the bench to score for England's Under-18s in a 2-2 draw with France. The youngster came on at half-time and scored from the spot to earn his side a draw. Nick Michalski was an unused substitute for the Under-19s against Belgium on Saturday
