Lancashire County Council has published a notice of proposal for a traffic regulation order that would affect roads in Burnley, Chorley, Pendle, Preston, Rossendale and West Lancashire.
The proposals include the introduction of new one-way systems, weight restrictions, and prohibitions on right turns and U-turns, as well as the revocation of some existing orders.
In Rossendale, a three-tonne weight restriction, except for access, is proposed for seven roads in Rawtenstall:
- Alder Avenue
- Alderwood
- Grange Close
- Grange Crescent
- Grange Road
- Grange Street
- Raby Street
The council is also proposing to revoke a three-tonne weight restriction from a section of Grange Crescent, Grange Street and Grange Road, Rawtenstall, which extends for approximately 529 yards from the junction of Grange Crescent with Bank Street to the junction of Grange Road with Newchurch Road.
In Haslingden, the council is seeking to revoke a one-way restriction on Beaconsfield Street, Warner Street, New Street, and Lower Deardengate.
A new one-way system is proposed for Beaconsfield Street, from its junction with Manchester Road to its junction with Salisbury Street, in a north-easterly direction.
In Burnley, one-way restrictions are proposed for several roads:
- Bull Street
- Dugdale Street
- Gable 83 Ormerod Road
- Grimshaw Street
- Hammerton Street, Holden Street
- Holland Street, Manchester Road
- Nicholas Street
- Ormerod Street
- Parker Lane, Red Lion Street
- St James Row
- Victoria Street
- Yorke Street
In Padiham, one-way restrictions are proposed for Arbories Avenue, Mill Street, and Vicarage Avenue.
In Bacup, a one-way restriction is proposed for Lane Head Lane, from its junction with Blackthorn Lane and Greensnook Lane, for its entire length, travelling in a southerly direction.
In Nelson, one-way restrictions are proposed for Macleod Street and Victoria Street.
In Ormskirk, the council is proposing to introduce a prohibition of right turns for southbound vehicles on Two Saints Place into the Morrisons access road.
A prohibition of U-turns is also proposed for Two Saints Place, from its eastern carriageway at the junction with Morrisons access road, turning into the western carriageway of Park Road.
In Preston, a prohibition of U-turns is proposed for Garstang Road, from the northern carriageway at its junction with Kings Drive, turning into the southern carriageway.
