Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza has claimed the lives of over 18,000 children. Behind every number is a name and a home torn apart.
Friends of Al-Aqsa (FOA) invites people to join them in a public reading of the names of Gaza’s children. Together, participants will remember them, honour their lives, and show the world that these are not statistics, but precious lives stolen.
This momentous event will be taking place in 25 towns and cities across the UK.
FOA will host a nationwide memorial on Saturday, 4 October 2025, to remember the tens of thousands of children who have lost their lives in Gaza amid Israel’s ongoing genocide.
The coordinated event, titled Know Their Names, will take place simultaneously, creating a unified moment of remembrance and solidarity.
Members of the public are invited to reserve slots to publicly read the names of Palestinian children who have been killed.
In Blackburn, it will take place at the Queen Victoria Statue, The Boulevard, Cathedral Square (opposite Blackburn train station) between 8am and 9pm.

Each reading will stand as a solemn act of remembrance, a rejection of silence, and a call for urgent action.
“These readings will serve not only as moments of reflection, but also as a powerful collective voice affirming that these children will not be forgotten,” said Ismail Patel, chair of Friends of Al Aqsa.
Since the onset of the Israeli attacks, over 19,000 children have been killed in Gaza, with thousands more wounded, orphaned, or displaced.
FOA calls on communities across the UK to join in this collective act of remembrance by participating in readings of the names of the children, attending the Know Their Names events and standing in solidarity with the people of Gaza, and sharing the message widely to raise awareness of the ongoing atrocities.
In addition, FOA urges members of the public to mobilise for the national demonstration in London on 11 October 2025, which will mark two years since the beginning of the genocide in Gaza.
FOA also encourages everyone to write to their MPs demanding the UK government impose sanctions on Israel and take immediate steps to end its complicity in the ongoing violence.
