A road in Hoddlesden has closed suddenly due to a leak in the carriageway.
United Utilities has closed a small stretch of Long Hey Lane.
According to Blackburn with Darwen Roads, the closure is roughly 1km east of Hoddlesden, and 1km west of Long Hey Lane's junction with Broadhead Road.
The stretch of road is set to be closed until Tuesday, September 30.
A spokesperson for Blackburn with Darwen Roads said: “United Utilities have closed a small stretch of Long Hey Lane, Hoddlesden, to repair a leak in the carriageway.
“The closure is roughly 1km east of Hoddlesden, and 1km west of Long Hey Lane's junction with Broadhead Road.
“It is expected that the closure will be in place until Tuesday, September 30.”
A spokesperson for United Utilities said: “Our team has been on site to deliver a leak on a water pipe in Long Hey Lane.
"So they can carry out the work safely it has been necessary to close a section of the road and put a short diversion in place.
"The repair is now complete, and reinstatement will be carried out as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank people for their patience.”
