Train services between Blackburn and Bolton are running again after flooding closed the line.

East Lancashire and Greater Manchester was hit with heavy rain yesterday evening and going into the early hours of this morning.

Train operator Northern announced shortly before 7pm yesterday (September 20) that the service was suspended and that road transport would run in its place.

They have confirmed this morning (September 21) that disruption has been cleared and services will return to normal.
