The weekend will see events taking place in Blackburn to celebrate the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday.
On Sunday, an annual procession will begin in Randal Street and make its way around Brookhouse into Earl Street and then Whalley Range.
The march ends at the Madina Mosque in Oak Street.
The event, which is marshalled by volunteers, will begin at 12pm and end at 1pm, and thousands are expected to attend.
The procession is organised by the Raza Mosque and Madina Mosque (Image: Nq) At 2pm on Sunday, Blackburn’s newest mosque, the Al-Buraq Masjid, in Devonport Road, will host its first ‘Mawlid gathering’.

This is due to begin at 2pm and go on through the afternoon.
The mosque said: “Join us for a historic first Mawlid at Masjid Al-Buraq, a gathering of faith, unity, and blessings.
“The Al-Buraq Museum will also be open, hosting some rare unique additional Islamic artefacts for a limited time.”
