Is Parlick Fell worth a visit?

Visit Preston said: “The walk up Parlick Fell and along to Fairsnape Fell is considered to be one of the finest in the Forest of Bowland, boasting stunning panoramic open views of the Lancashire countryside for miles around.”

It added: “Perhaps not one for young kids, but it's a great option for older children and those up for a moderate challenge. Also, don't forget to keep an eye out for the paragliders often seen soaring the skies on a clear day.

“Once back, why not stop off at The Sun Inn in Chipping for some post walk lunch and refreshments.

One walker who has experienced it, commented: “A route with good gains. Not the most dog-friendly of routes (tricky stiles and fences) but good views from the ridge of Lancashire, Yorkshire and the Lakes.”

Another said: “Completed today in early spring sunshine. Much drier than I expected after reading reviews. Paths are quite clear.

“We went up the direct ascent route which was hard going! Good work out and will ache tomorrow. Views are absolutely stunning and better than those from Pendle Hill.”
