Rob Edwards says Middlesbrough are “working hard” to add to their squad ahead of the upcoming Championship campaign.
Boro, who are keen on bringing Callum Brittain to the Riverside Stadium, are still waiting for their first signing of the summer.
The full-back returned to the Rovers side against Everton over the weekend, setting up Dion De Neve’s winner, and Valerien Ismael insisted he will only be sold this summer “if the price is right for the club”.
Edwards says he is not concerned about Boro’s lack of business so far and he prepares for his first season in charge, having replaced Michael Carrick in the dugout.
“We are working hard on it,” he told Teesside Live. “It is always difficult because you have got to agree so many different things with other parties.
“There’s players, agents and other clubs, and there’s all sorts of things involved with that. Of course, we want to add some bodies and the guys are working really hard on doing that and helping us.
“I am sure there will be some arrivals in the near future, I think we are close on a couple. I’m really hoping so.
“But at the moment, I’m working with what we have got and I think we have got a very, very good group.”

Boro finished 10th in the table last season despite being around the play-off picture for most of the campaign.
Edwards was appointed earlier this summer, returning to the Championship several months on from his Luton Town exit.
“New signings would give a lift, there’s no doubt about it,” he added. “But I’m not worried about it at the moment, at all. I really need to stress that.
“I know there is a lot of hard work going on and there is a good plan there in place. It is not always easy to get things over the line.
“It is probably quite clear that we need something else in one or two areas, but my focus right now has to be on the players we have got and are working with.
“We have got some really good players here and I want to make sure I focus on that at the moment. But without doubt, when one or two new faces come in, it always lifts the group.”
