A Blackburn sixth form student has launched a new AI-powered platform to support teenagers with career decisions across the UK — and it’s completely free.

Aamir Munshi is currently Head Boy at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School (QEGS), studying A-levels in economics, business and sociology.

Alongside his studies, the 18-year-old built PathwayPal — a digital tool designed to give personalised career guidance to students aged 14 and above.

“I’ve built a platform called PathwayPal — a completely free, AI-powered career guidance tool for students aged 14 and above,” Aamir explains.

“Students fill out a short, intuitive assessment, and in return, they receive five personalised career suggestions based on their current grades, interests, and aspirations.”

Each result includes a breakdown of qualifications needed, advice on next steps, and practical insights, all accessible from any device.

Born and raised in the UAE until the age of 16, Aamir moved to Blackburn with a passion for technology, education, and improving access to opportunities.

“Growing up, I found it difficult to access proper, personalised career advice,” he says.

“I often felt unsure of my options and noticed many others felt the same — especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds. That gap inspired me to build something that could level the playing field.”

Aamir taught himself to code and developed the platform using AI and his research.

PathwayPal doesn’t require log-ins or payment, a deliberate move to make the resource as accessible as possible.

He said: “I wanted to create the kind of support I wish I had: something intelligent, relevant, and completely free for anyone to use."

While still finishing his A-levels, Aamir hopes to continue improving the tool and expanding its reach to schools, colleges, and youth organisations across the UK.

“I’ve built PathwayPal from scratch — combining my self-taught coding skills with AI and a lot of research.

"It’s a project that I’ve worked very hard on,” he adds, “and I’ve made it my mission to make it available to every student, everywhere.”

Mr Hindle, head of QEGS Sixth Form, commented, "Aamir is an inspirational Head Boy, an outstanding role model, and a credit to QEGS Sixth Form. His creation of an AI careers pathway website reflects not only his exceptional talent and drive but also his desire to support others in shaping their future.

"We are incredibly proud of Aamir's achievements and feel very fortunate to have him as part of our Sixth Form community. We have no doubt he has a bright and impactful future ahead."
