A man who repeatedly exposed his genitals in public was made subject to a deferred sentence after a court heard he had a "very limited" life expectancy.
Blackburn Magistrates' Court heard Kevin Richardson had not been in trouble until recently, with his lawyer Jonathan Taylor suggesting the change could be due to his heart condition.
"It is unusual for a man of his age, who has worked all of his life, to start appearing in court," said Mr Taylor in mitigation.
"There are a number of offences which patently cross the custody threshold, but it is relevant that his life expectancy isn't particularly long."
Richardson, 62, of Blackamoor Road, Guide, pleaded guilty to eight charges of indecent exposure, racially aggravated threatening behaviour, outraging public decency and threatening a person with a knife in a private place.
District Judge Timothy Gascoigne said he noted the defendant's age and lack of criminal record.
"Other than a very minor offence in 1999, you have not been in trouble," said District Judge Gascoigne.
"Something has clearly happened for you to be appearing before me today on these charges.
"I am going to defer sentence until November 22, which is your birthday, so you won't forget it."
Zulekha Bhuta, prosecuting, said one of the indecent exposure offences was committed in a McDonald's restaurant and another in Royal Blackburn Hospital.
The threatening behaviour charge related to an incident outside Preston Crown Court, where Richardson had been appearing.
He had lost his wallet and started shouting and swearing at security staff.
