Accrington's Bilal ‘one to watch’ as he lands national title

An unbeaten Accrington boxer has won the Schoolboy Cadet National companionship.

Bilal Iqbal trains at No Excuses Amateur Professional Boxing Club in Accrington and came through a tough semi-final to set up a final showdown earlier this month.

In the final he comfortably got the win and stopped his opponent in the third round during the fight in Newcastle.

He is now classed as the number one boxer in the country for his weight and age.

Bilal has been commended for his attitude (Image: Nq) Trainer Muhammed Mayat said: “Bilal Iqbal is up-and-coming superstar just aged 12 years old undefeated boxer trains five times in the week plus he gets his running on the weekends.

“He shows great discipline and determination. He prays five times a day and still finds time to put the work in and train hard.

“This just proves that if you put the work effort in be thankful to the lord, show gratitude and you can achieve your goals.”
