A special 50th anniversary celebration of famous Bollywood film ‘Sholay’ will take place in Darwen.
Named ‘Yeh Dosti’ (this friendship) after the iconic song from the film, the celebration will feature dance performances choreographed to the movie's legendary soundtrack, 'bringing to life the energy, drama, and romance that made Sholay a classic'.
The dance show aims to transport crowds back to Bollywood's golden era of the 1970s when the Indian film industry took the world by storm.
Show organisers said: “Our talented cast of dancers and musicians will recreate the magic of the movie with dazzling costumes, vibrant sets, and electrifying performances.
“Experience the unforgettable dances and songs that have defined Bollywood cinema.
“Yeh Dosti is a celebration of the film's enduring impact.”
The film itself made superstars of some of the cast, and the movie is still played in some theatres in India due to its ongoing popularity.
It tells the tale of two criminals who are hired by a former police inspector to protect a village from a gang of bandits led by devious Gabbar Singh.
Yeh Dosti: Celebrating 50 Years Of Sholay is showing at the Darwen Library Theatre Friday June, 6 from 7.30pm.
Tickets can be purchased from the Darwen Library Theatre website.
