An East Lancashire man has been arrested after police officers intercepted more than £100,000 worth of cannabis being imported from abroad.

Over the past three months officers from Accrington Neighbourhood Policing Team have intercepted huge quantities of cannabis being imported from Thailand and the USA, destined for the streets of Accrington.

Last week (Thursday, March 6) a 43-year-old man from Huncoat was arrested on suspicion of importing and supplying cannabis. He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "We will continue to target those involved in drug dealing, and we rely on your help to identify where this activity is happening.

"Thank you for your continued support in helping us make Accrington a safer place."
