A Wetherspoons restaurant in Lancashire has been named among the top 22 in the UK in a list by the Daily Mail.
To make the list, the publication said: “We asked two of the country’s greatest Wetherspoon aficionados: Mags Thomson, a retired personal assistant aged 76 from Livingston, West Lothian, who’s been to more than 1,000 Wetherspoons (including many since shut), and Peter Dobson, 48, a health and fire safety adviser from Eastbourne, East Sussex, who’s been to 602.
“Between them, they've been to every Wetherspoons in the country.”
The Velvet Coaster in Blackpool made the list, making it the only Wetherspoons pub in Lancashire to feature.

Discussing The Velvet Coaster, the list explains: “More than £7 million was poured into the construction of this giant, new-build Wetherspoon pub.
“It opened in 2015 featuring a wavy-shaped building designed to mirror both the sea and the curves of the famous historic rollercoaster, a pleasure ride dating from 1909 after which the pub was named.
“There are three floors with balconies facing the promenade and the Irish Sea.
“A wicker sculpture of an old-fashioned weightlifter is by the slick, modern bar.”
“There’s a nice theme park feel in fitting with the pleasure beach,” says Peter Dobson, who has been to 602 Wetherspoons and helped pull the list together.

The shares some key details such as the price of a fry up and the best meal.
The price of Curry Club which includes an alcoholic drink is £11.73 at this Wetherspoons pub while you can expect to pay £5.99 for a fry up.
Ramen noodle bowl, paired with an alcoholic drink is considered to be the best meal and costs £11.05.
The cheapest pint you’ll find here is Greene King’s Ruddles Best which costs £1.79.

“Food was very quick and well prepared, drinks were excellent too. Standard Wetherspoons fare but still good!”
Another commented: “A very large Wetherspoons with three floors along the seafront. Nice wood fires alight on the ground floor. The food was typical Wetherspoons, but well cooked and served piping hot, it was very reasonably priced, and service was quick.
“We went there two nights running as there weren't many more places open which appealed to us, but we were more than happy there. We would return if in Blackpool.”
