Llamas in bow ties were a highlight for a visiting MP at a wellbeing farm and wedding venue.

Rossendale and Darwen MP, Andy McNae, paid a visit to The Wellbeing Farm, Edgworth.

The Labour MP was there to discuss the challenges facing the tourism and hospitality industry with the founder, Celia Gaze.

He was particularly impressed by Ms Gaze's approach to sustainability and business growth.

Mr McNae said: "We have so many great innovative businesses in Rossendale and Darwen and one of the best aspects of my job is being able to see them in action and hear their stories.

"This is especially true where llamas are involved.

"It was great to meet Celia to hear her exciting plans going forward and discuss them in the context of the government's growth and net zero agendas."

The Wellbeing Farm was one of the first wedding venues to become B-Corp certified in March 2022, meeting the 'highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.'

The farm, known for its 'llama weddings', was born out of Ms Gaze's own journey to wellbeing after suffering burnout while working in the NHS.

She said: "I appreciate Andy taking the time to understand the challenges facing the hospitality industry right now – it was a great discussion."

March is B Corp month, and The Wellbeing Farm is 'passionate' about inspiring other businesses to improve the economic system.
