Margaret and Donald met at the Blackburn Mecca Dance Hall in 1961 when they were 17 and 19, with Donald proposing to Margaret in 1963.

They married in 1965 and have two sons and three grandchildren.

Margaret said: "We like a lot of the same things and loved travelling together.

"We like spending time with each other."

Gordon and Joan met at the Post Office in 1955 when they were 21 and 22, marrying three years later.

They have one daughter called Barbara.

Their memorable holidays included celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary on a train holiday to Scotland.

Gordon said: "We’ve had a very happy marriage.

"We never fall out and love each other very much. The key is communication."

Both couples moved into the care home in 2023.

They will be celebrating Valentine's Day with a special lunch, joining other resident couples at the home.

Catherine Brierley, HC-One’s Dove Court Care Home manager, said: "Our residents' love stories are a testament to their true love, commitment, and the beauty of their shared experiences.

"Their love stories are a legacy of warmth and laughter, and show a family deeply enriched by their love for each other."
