Valentine’s Day is back, and the pressure is starting to build on the fellas who have completely forgot the big day is less than two weeks away.

Men up and down the country are now desperately scrolling through OpenTable trying to find somewhere which has a booking available, often to no avail.

Luckily, we have saved your blushes and put together a list of the five best restaurants, to get into the day of romance.

The Rum Fox, Grindleton

Having been chosen in this year’s Good Food Guide, the pub has been a hit with the community with many praising the fantastic rum selection and a dining experience focussed on locally sourced ingredients.

Having been opened following a petition from locals to have a pub in the town, head chef Bob Geldard, former head chef at the Duke of York and his partner Kiaja took on the venture.

Since then, it has proven to be one of the best eateries in the region and one to impress your partner on Valentines’ Day.

The Three Fishes, Great Mitton

Set in the heart of the Ribble Valley, the restaurant showcases exceptional produce and is focused on transporting food straight from its organic garden to plates.

Bringing over 50 years of experience Nigel Haworth, the restaurant has been lauded in the Michelin Guide and hopes to get its hands on a star in the near future.

Dishes range from contemporary to classic British and showcase Lancashire’s exceptional ingredients and beyond.

The Black Bull Inn, Old Langho

The Black Bull InnThe Black Bull Inn (Image: Facebook) For those who engaged in the latest season of MasterChef: The Professionals, the Black Bull is a must, as it boasts the competition winner – Dan Merriman.

First registered as a coaching inn in 1555, the old walls give a warm welcome to guests, whether they are from the area or afar.

Serving both classic and contemporary British menus throughout the day, they are focussed on using seasonal produce from East Lancashire providers.

And it is not just the food that makes it a perfect romantic date, with an extensive garden boasting panoramic views across the Ribble Valley and towards Pendle Hill.

A tipi style stretch tent, known as “The Pavillion”, lets couples settle into the evening with a cocktail in hand as they gaze into the sunset – does it get any better than that?

MyLahore, Blackburn

Whilst not the most romantic, MyLahore promises great food and a great atmosphere to spend the day with the special person in your life.

Having picked up numerous awards at the national curry awards, the eatery is the second most popular in Blackburn on TripAdvisor and offers couples everything from samosas to shepherd’s pie.

With now six restaurants across the country, it has become everyone’s favourite for cheap but delicious Indian cuisine.

Mood lighting, a fire and a range of cocktails make this maybe the best place in Blackburn to spend Valentine's Day.

For those looking for a more relaxed evening this Valentines Day, The Crafty Fox in Accrington is a fantastic choice.

Run by Paul Fox, the former commis chef at the Three Fishes, he offers a menu of classic pub grub and a vast selection of ales.

With some of the freshest burgers, pies and smorgasbords in the area, the pub has gained traction with the best TripAdvisor reviews in the whole of East Lancashire.

Described as more of a relaxed bar, like one in the Northern Quarter of Manchester, it is a great option for those who just want to enjoy each other’s company, rather than make a big deal of the whole day.
