A leisure centre in Clitheroe has been given £80,000 to put a 'new spin' on its exercise classes.
Ribble Valley Sport and Recreation was given the money by the government to create a 'spinning hub' at Roefield Leisure Centre.
The hub has 27 spinning machines, special lighting, and a large screen.
Centre manager, David Potts, said: "Since it opened, you could say that the spinning hub has really taken off.
"The spin machines are great fun and they appeal to people of all ages and fitness levels, and they've helped us maintain our membership levels."
The centre now runs 20 hours of spin classes, six days a week.
Mr Potts said: "They're a great way of burning off calories and keeping fit, but they're also a very social way of bringing people together.
"It's a fun environment and people have control of how much effort they want to put in to suit their ability and fitness levels."
Councillor Stuart Hirst, chairman of the council's community services committee, said: "It's great to see these classes being such a hit with people of all ages.
"This is an investment in the health and well-being of local residents and I hope the spinning hub continues to generate energy and enthusiasm for keeping fit."
The money was given to Ribble Valley Borough Council by the government to give to local projects.
