A football fan from Blackburn says he was delighted to have met Liverpool legend Bruce Grobbelaar at a charity dinner.
Anjam Iqbal who supports Everton was keen to ask Grobbelaar about his Everton counterpart Neville Southall during an era when both keepers were at the height of their careers.
Grobbelaar, 67, said: “For all the hardcore Everton fans. You had one of the best goalkeepers in the world.”
Grobbelaar, who was part of the legendary Liverpool side of the 1980s said it was a shame that both he and Neville also never played in a World Cup.
“We never got to a World Cup to make us both world class. If there was a chance for Neville to be a World Cup he would have been world class.
“I can have nothing bad to say about the big man from Llandudno. Neville Southall is a good friend of mine and a great colleague. A great goalkeeper and a fantastic Evertonian.”
Anjam said: "He was a true gentleman and it was great to meet some fantastic football legends at the event."
Anjam was attending a special event a special event to remember Kevin Campbell.
