A convicted paedophile who was prohibited from keeping items relating to children as part of a sexual harm prevention order was found hiding girls' swimsuits and baby wipes in his bedroom.
Kurt Alexander, 57, was made subject to the order last year when he was caught in possession of girls' knickers in the toilet of an Asda supermarket.
Alexander was jailed for two years for that offence at Preston Crown Court in September 2023, and was released from prison in April 2024 to a bail hostel in Accrington.
While he was staying there, Alexander was subject to searches of his bedroom by residential workers, and he consented to a search on July 18 of this year.
The worker found a pack of baby wipes and a child's swimming costume labelled age seven behind Alexander's wardrobe.
Police officers attended and arrested Alexander, and when they conducted their own search they found another swimming costume labelled age 13 inside a plastic bag stuffed behind the radiator.
Ellie McManus, prosecuting, said when Alexander was arrested, he said to the worker: "What have I done, Miss? I don't understand."
Alexander was interviewed on the same day and made full and frank admissions, and ultimately pleaded guilty to breaching the sexual harm prevention order at Preston Magistrates' Court on October 17.

He has four convictions for 26 previous offences, including a range of sexual offences in 2011 which included making indecent images, sexual assault of a child, and assault by penetration.
Following this offending, he was made subject to a sexual offences prevention order, which he breached in 2023 when he was caught in the Asda toilets in Keighley, West Yorkshire, "sweating profusely" and in possession of young girls' underwear.
Naomi Duckworth, mitigating, said this was "clearly a deliberate breach" of his order.
Judge Darren Preston, sentencing, said: "Staff found in your room two female children's swimsuits and a pack of baby wipes, both of which you were specifically prohibited from possessing because you obtain sexual gratification from that sort of material.
"You have before been hanging around in places like children's reading sections in public libraries. Your current behaviour reveals you are a persistent paedophile.
"You received a lengthy sentence in 2011 for multiple sex offences. You've demonstrated you are incapable of complying with court orders.
"You are a very high-risk offender. You are a paedophile. You might well use these items to attract and therefore harm young girls. I have no doubt that was a very real risk these items created.
"You admit to the author of the pre-sentence report you think daily about children and you hang about in areas where they will be present."
Alexander, formerly of Mason Street, Colne, but whose most recent given address is HMP Risley in Warrington, was jailed for three years.
His previous sexual harm prevention order, which was imposed for life, remains in place with no new order imposed.
