Entries are now being accepted for this year's 10k run through some of the most iconic spots in Blackburn.
This year’s race, which is organised by Run Through and Blackburn Rovers Community Trust, has a new headline sponsor - Barratt Homes, and will take place on Sunday 8 December, starting at 9.30am at Ewood Park.
Anyone signing up now can take advantage of the early bird price of £26 or £38 if you wish to purchase a Blackburn 10k t-shirt.
A group booking of six is available at a discounted price of £120.
The event takes runners past local landmarks such as Wainwright Bridge, Blackburn Cathedral and King George’s Hall.
The course heads out onto the closed roads of Blackburn for a fast 10k route that takes in Blackburn town centre before making its way back on a looped route back towards Ewood Park.
Along with the adult race, children can take part in a smaller one-kilometre race around the perimeter of the ground, costing just £5.
When entering the race, participants will receive chipped timed results, a themed medal, free official event photos and post-race goodies.
Partnerships and facilities manager at Blackburn Rovers Community Trust, Ryan Loftus, said: “It’s great that we can host the Blackburn 10k once again this year, with the race starting and finishing at Ewood Park.
“It has been a very successful event over the past few years and it always brings the community together, so for Ewood Park to play an important part in the day, it makes it even more special. We can’t wait to welcome everyone for what I am sure will be a fantastic day.
Co-Founder of RunThrough, Matt Wood, added: "It is always so special for me holding the Blackburn 10k, this being my hometown and knowing that the streets that the race takes place on are the streets I ran on growing up.
"Collaborating with Blackburn Rovers Community Trust and Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, we’ve created an event that not only showcases the best of Blackburn but also promotes health and wellbeing throughout the community.
“Seeing thousands of runners come together, from first-timers to seasoned athletes, to take on this challenge is truly inspiring.
"It is a privilege to contribute to the positive impact this event has on the town, and I'm incredibly proud of the relationships we've built to make it a success year after year."
