Police have charged a man for possession of a knife in Preston.
On Wednesday officers were called to a report of 'suspicious activity' in the Avenham area.
On arrival, and after spotting officers, a man allegedly tried to run away and was stopped by officers. A machete was found discarded in a garden nearby and an 18-year-old-man was arrested.
Tyreese Samuels-West, 18, of Lulworth Avenue, Ashton, has been charged with possession of a knife in a public place and will appear at Preston Magistrates Court this afternoon.
