A 28-year-old has been charged in connection with alleged drugs offences in Preston.
At around 11am on Tuesday, uniformed and plain-clothed officers were carrying out patrols in the Ashton area.
They allegedly spotted a man acting suspiciously in an alleyway near to Ainslie Road. On seeing officers, the man is alleged to have attempted to escape and ran across Plungington Road.
Following a short chase, officers caught up with the man in Rundle Road where he was detained.
A search allegedly found two mobile phones and a large amount of cash. A further search of the nearby alleyway allegedly found 20 to 30 wraps of what was suspected to be class A drugs.
Liam O’Connor, 28, of Moss Acre Road, Penwortham has now been charged with possession with intent to supply a Class A drug and was due to appear at Preston Magistrates' Court this morning.
