A Blackburn author has been shortlisted for a business award and says she is excited to share the honour with other nominated women.
Christina Gabbitas, author of ‘Trapped in County Lines’ and other books, has been shortlisted in the creative businesswoman category at the Great British Businesswomen Awards 2025.
She was chosen from a pool of more than 800 applications, making Christina's selection a remarkable recognition of her dedication, creativity, and influence in the field. Her team are said to be proud to see Christina's achievements showcased alongside such exceptional talent.
Christina said: “The creative sector is often underestimated, but our innovative and engaging methods can create significant impacts and leave a lasting imprint.
“I am passionate about using the power of words to educate children and young people about the world around them. While creative businesses are sometimes undervalued, their enduring impact is incredibly powerful.
“I am excited to share this honour with eight incredible women from the creative industry."
Christina collaborates with various organisations to “convey meaningful messages through the art of storytelling”.
Her mission is to empower children and young people by giving them a voice. She has partnered with numerous police forces, to develop written and animated narratives aimed at educating children and young people about county lines exploitation and knife crime.
She has previously worked with includes Santen, York Castle Museum, Blackburn BID, The Visual Group Doncaster, and The Aspergillosis Charity, all of whom have commissioned her to create engaging educational content.
Christina is set to attend the awards ceremony at a renowned venue in London on January 30, 2025.
