One person was rescued from a house following reports of an explosion in Burnley.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene in Brunswick Street at around 1.30pm this afternoon (Saturday, September 14).
Two fire engines from Burnley as well as the urban search and rescue teams from Bamber Bridge and Chorley attended.
The scene, outside a children's park, showed the ground floor window of a large building had been smashed.
Cadent Gas engineers were on the site shortly before 5pm.
A joint investigation between the fire service and Lancashire Police has been launched.
A fire service spokesperson said: "Two fire engines from Burnley and the Urban and Search and Rescue Team from Bamber Bridge and Chorley were called to an explosion on Brunswick Street, Burnley.
"Firefighters used four breathing apparatus and one hose reel, and they rescued one person from the property. A joint police and fire investigation is underway."
Lancashire Police have been contacted for comment.
