Drivers are facing delays on the M61 following a crash this morning.
The incident happened on the M61northbound between Junction 9 (M65) and Junction 30 (M6) near Bamber Bridge.
Traffic had been temporarily stopped due to the crash. One lane had reopened earlier this morning whilst emergency teams conducted a clear up of the area.
Traffic was backed up for several miles on the M61.
National Highways said there is still around two miles of congestion on approach with delays of 15 minutes above usual journey times.
