Staff and pupils at a Rising Bridge school is celebrating after achieving a Gold Mark award.
St John's Stonefold was honoured for its commitment to the development of competition across their school and within their local community
The School Games Mark is a government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust.
Throughout the year, the children have been involved in a host of inclusion events aimed at providing opportunities for all children to take part in sport and physical activity.
This included winning the inclusive tenpin bowling competition and representing Lancashire at the event.
The school has also been involved in a wide range of extra curricular activities and competitions including football, dodgeball and athletics.
Headteacher Paul Burns said: "The school has taken huge steps towards children participating in the leadership of sport by having sports leaders in school and forming a sports council.
"Everyone at the school is extremely proud of their achievement and have more plans to develop their extra-curricular activities for all children."
