A charity is urging people to ‘buy a pint’ to raise money for a charity set up in memory of Adam Rogers ahead of what would have been his 40th birthday.
Adam was killed in Blackburn town centre attempting to act as a peacemaker. His only mistake was trying to keep a young man away from the area where his friend was being attacked.
Then aged 24, Adam was killed by a single punch while on the night out in July 2009.
Billy Upton was jailed for four years for the manslaughter of Adam in 2010. He was 16-years-old when he fatally punched Adam outside a takeaway.
His parents, Patricia and Dave Rogers, set up the charity Every Action Has Consequences, and have been actively going into schools and prisons to teach young people about the consequences their actions can have.
On Saturday, September 21, the charity will be getting together at Bowland Brewery in Clitheroe to celebrate Adam's life and to remember him.
A spokesperson said: “The charity has been going for 15 years now and we want to keep it going as long as we can. The feedback we get from schools and prisons is really positive and we know we are still making a difference.
“We will have two amazing paintings displayed for you to see.
“One is of Adam, painted by Paddy Jordan, a lifelong friend of Dave, and the other is a portrait of Dave painted by Jeff Stultiens, a member of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, which was on exhibition in Mall Galleries in London.
“Adam would have been 40 on September 23. To celebrate his life, the charity wants to raise funds in his memory.

An appeal says: “Can you support us by 'Buying a pint for Adam' on his 40th as a donation to help us to continue with our work with young people.
“Please join us if you can to support the charity and to remember two remarkable and very special people.”
Dad, Dave, received an MBE for his work on the campaign, and died in 2021. Earlier this year, Patricia met with King Charles to receive her MBE medal after she was named in the New Year's Honours list.
