A man from Burnley damaged his police station cell and also racially abused a Lancashire police officer.
Last February, Daniel Shaw, 42, of Padgate Place, spat and urinated in his cell at Greenbank Police Station in Blackburn.
He also damaged the glass window of the custody suite. Shaw then hurled racist abuse at a Lancashire police officer.
For the racial aggravation, the court increased his sentence from a community order to 12 weeks in prison.
A spokesperson for the Crown Prosecution Service North West (CPS) said: “In February last year, Daniel Shaw, 42 from Burnley, caused damage by spitting and urinating in his cell at Greenbank Police Station and also racially abused a Lancashire Police officer.
“For racial aggravation the court uplifted his sentence from a community order to 12 weeks imprisonment.”
