Another arrest has been made after a boy was injured in a hit-and-run, in Nelson.
A 12-year-old boy was hit by a car, that was being pursued by police. The incident happened in Southfield Street, Nelson, just after 4pm on August 7.
Police officers saw a Ford Focus being driven anti-socially in Leeds Road and began to follow it.
The car made off onto Barkerhouse Road and then onto Southfield Street, where it hit a boy who was crossing the road. The driver and passenger made off.
The boy was taken to hospital but has now been discharged.
Two people have now been arrested. A 16-year-old boy from Nelson was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
In an update, police have also arrested an 18-year-old man from Nelson on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle. Both remain in custody.

A police spokesperson said: “We told you yesterday about a collision in Nelson in which a young boy was injured and we wanted to give you an update.
“Just as a reminder of the detail at about 4pm one of our patrol cars spotted a car driving anti-socially in the Leeds Road area and began to follow it.
“The car, a Ford Focus, made off onto Barkerhouse Road and then onto Southfield Street where it collided with a boy crossing the road. The car then crashed further up the road.
“The driver and a passenger made off from the vehicle.
“The boy, 12, was taken to hospital. Thankfully, he has now been discharged.
“Two people have now been arrested. A 16-year-old boy from Nelson has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and an 18-year-old man from Nelson has been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle. Both remain in custody.
