A renowned Lancashire restaurant is pledging to provide affordable fine dining.

Aven, known to be Preston's only fine dining restaurant, is listed in the Michelin Guide and boasts of three AA Rosettes.

After successfully launching a month-long event dubbed Lancashire Flavours, where a tasting menu was provided at a slashed rate of £69, the management has decided to maintain that price for regular dining.

The event, aimed at honouring local food suppliers, products, and foraged ingredients, had an overwhelming turnout.

The success inspired the team at Aven to maintain the price while offering the usual high-quality dining experience.

Founders of the restaurant, Oli Martin and Alex Blamire, are certain top-quality food can be affordable.

Mr Martin said: "The success of our Lancashire Flavours month was overwhelming.

"And we realised that we needed to find a year-round way to make this open to everyone.

"We have recently seen some of the UK's top fine dining restaurants close their doors or change their concept to drive footfall and that’s what we are now doing."

A combination of cost control and sourcing of ingredients locally has made it possible to maintain exceptional quality at a lower price.

Sean Wrest, the head chef behind the initiative, said: "We hope by offering our tasting menu at a reasonable price we can make it more accessible and also create a passion in our dinners to find out more about what’s on their doorstep.

"With these changes, we hope to also connect our guests with the local sources of their meals.

"Imagine visiting the village where our tomatoes or strawberries are farmed or taking the kids to the coast where our fish is caught.

"It's all about creating a deeper connection to the food and the community."
