Police and firefighters attended reports of 'people on a roof' in Blackburn town centre on Monday evening.
A video shared on social media shows police officers, firefighters, emergency service vehicles and a crowd of onlookers, on Higher Church Street, outside The Sun pub on Monday evening (July 8).
Reports were made just after 8.45pm of a 'concern for welfare'. Two men were seen on top of the building, seemingly watching the incident unfold and unaware they were the ones who the police had been called to.
Officers also called three fire engines and an aerial ladder platform from Lancashire Fire and Rescue to the scene.
Fire crews came away at 9.35pm and police officers confirmed there was no trace of anyone on the roof, and the incident was stood down.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said: "We were called to assist the police at 8.47pm last night on Higher Church Street, Blackburn.
"We sent three fire engines and an aerial ladder platform to the scene and crews came away at 9.35pm."
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "On Monday, July 8 at around 8.39pm, we were called to a report of a concern for welfare on Higher Church Street, Blackburn.
"Officers attended and confirmed there was no trace of anyone on the roof, and the incident was stood down."
The men are believed to have been on a balcony at the top of the building.
