An independent gin company from Lancashire has secured one of only 10 gold medals awarded to English gins at this year’s International Wines and Spirits award.
Wild Fox Distillery’s latest creation, Mane Event five-star gin, earned a 95-point score from the judges and dazzled them with its exceptional quality and taste.
Judges noted the drink’s “vibrant medley of mandarin and honey aromas with a bright, sweet lemon and tea character on the palate.”

They added: “The rich flavours complement each other wonderfully, building to a memorable green pepper hit on the finish.”
The Mediterranean-style dry gin features bursts of ruby grapefruit, lemongrass, basil, mint, and rosemary and is one of six spirits currently produced by Wild Fox, which is based near Inglewhite.

Husband and wife duo Lizzie and Rob Billington, fourth-generation dairy farmers who diversified into artisan gin crafting in 2019, endeavour to keep all elements of production on their Inglewhite farm.
Lizzie said: “We are beyond thrilled to share the news of our Mane Event Gin winning Gold at this year’s IWSC competition.
"Receiving such recognition for the immense effort, love and care we put into crafting true micro-batch gin is truly humbling.”

A family business to its core, the distillery takes its name from Lizzie and Rob’s affectionate nickname for their young, red-headed daughters, Annie and Besty - their very own little wild foxes.
Lizzie and Rob handle all parts of production, from development through to packaging, and pride themselves on their eco-friendly approach and sustainable measures.
Their luxury gins, including hero product Ivy’s Signature, are available to buy online and delivered nationwide, as well as being stocked in selected stores.
