Here’s a photo which might bring back a few memories for takeaway lovers.
It was taken in 1983 as part of an advertising feature in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph for the Big Boy restaurant on Preston New Road in Blackburn.
As well as a takeaway, there was also a sit-in restaurant.
It seems as though Big Boy specialised in burgers and chicken and the prices which you can see on display make for fascinating reading.
A cheeseburger was 50p or 64p if you were dining in, with a half pounder costing £1.30 to take out. The restaurant had introduced coffee and hot chocolate on to the menu with coffee costing 24p and hot chocolate 30p.
