One of the UK's largest arts and crafts retailers has launched a new store in Lancashire, followed by a grand opening event.

Hobbycraft officially opened its Blackpool Retail Park store on Tuesday, June 4, before an unveiling event last Saturday (June 8) featuring the Mayor and Mayoress of the town.

The store offers products ranging from art, baking, papercraft, and kids' crafts to model making and accessories for weddings.

Throughout Saturday's grand event crafting activities were available to customers, such as a free face-painting stand managed by Snazaroo.

Fiona Grayson, store manager, said: "Our amazing store is packed with crafting materials to suit all ages and abilities, and beginners through to experienced crafters are all welcome to pop into the store and chat to our creative colleagues.

"They’re always happy to share their knowledge, tips and tricks."

The new outlet has generated nine new jobs in the area, with the new workers forming a team on hand to assist customers.

Craft workshops, a dedicated digital cutting area, and a haberdashery area can all be found inside the store.

Hobbycraft is located at Unit C, Blackpool Retail Park, Squires Gate Lane, Blackpool.

It is open from Monday to Friday 9am to 8pm, Saturday 9am to 6pm, and Sunday 10am to 4pm.
