This is a fascinating photo from the archive which we would be surprised if many Looking Back readers could identify.
Taken in September 1965, it shows the rear of Beechwood House on Livesey Branch Road in Blackburn.
The land around it was being cleared in preparation for a new development of bungalows around Beechwood Drive.
Beechwood House was originally built for George Whiteley, whose father together with Joseph Eccles, built and ran Albion Cotton Mill near Ewood.
Not long after this photo was taken, the house would be demolished and a pub - the Beechwood - would be built on the site. This in turn became the Oaktree.
Today the housing still exists but the site of the house is now a Tesco supermarket.
