A Lancashire Evening Telegraph photographer was on hand to record the final night of racing at Blackburn Greyhound Stadium before it closed for good in June, 1984.
The stadium, off Gorse Street had been operating since 1933 and for much of that time it had been a grass track before finally converting to the sand track you can see here.
The stands were demolished and the site was redeveloped to make way for Blackburn’s main Tesco supermarket.
