Blackburn with Darwen's new Mayor Cllr Brian Taylor was officially welcomed to his new role at the borough's Civic Sunday at the weekend.
The Darwen West representative took centre stage for the celebrations of his appointment as its 'First Citizen' for 2024/25.
He was joined by his Mayoresses and his deputy Blackburn South and Lower Darwen's Cllr Jacqueline Slater for the event in Blackburn town centre.
They were joined by dignitaries from across the area for the the procession to Blackburn Cathedral where a special civic service took place starting at noon.
Then the procession made its way to Blackburn Town Hall, where Cllr Taylor gave the traditional Civic Sunday speech to mark the start of his Mayoral year.
