A pro-Palestine march is to take place over the weekend through the streets of Blackburn.
Over the past seven months, a number of protests over the ongoing bombing in Gaza have taken place in Lancashire but only one march has happened in Blackburn.
The others have been static protests at different locations.
Organisers have shared graphics saying the march will begin at 2.30pm and end at the town hall on Saturday but no further details have been released.
In late October, 3,000 people marched through Blackburn, heading down Barbara Castle Way, along Whalley New Road, Whalley Range, Victoria Street and back to the town centre.
It is not clear if this march will take the same route.
The ‘March for Palestine – Hands Off Rafah’ event is being organised by Blackburn4Palestine, says the poster.
Blackburn with Darwen Council said it would update road users of the march but had not received any ‘formal notification’ of a protest taking place.
A statement read: “Whilst the council hasn’t had a formal notification, we have been made aware that there is a planned protest outside the Town Hall on Saturday.
“Our teams along with event partners are highly experienced in facilitating demonstrations and we would urge any organisers to contact the council as soon as possible so we can work together to plan in a safe, organised and efficient manner.
“We will provide an update for residents, road users and local businesses on any expected road closures as soon as we are able to do so.”
