Traffic has been stopped on the M6 and it is affecting travel in Carnforth.

Traffic has been stopped on the M6 southbound, between junction 36, Crooklands, and junction 35, Carnforth.

This is due to a crash involving an overturned car.

Emergency services are in attendance.

In an update National Highways said two lanes are closed and warned of minor delays on approach.

A spokesperson for National Highways said: “Traffic has been stopped on the M6 southbound in Cumbria between J36 (Crooklands) and J35 (Carnforth) due to a collision involving an overturned car.

“All emergency services are attending the scene. More information to follow soon. Thanks for your patience.

“Two lanes (of three) remain closed at this time whilst emergency services are still on scene. There are minor delays on approach.”
